I saw this recipe on Facebook, and decided I had to try it immediately.
Put chuck roast in crock pot, Sprinkle with dry Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix, add packet of dry McCormick Au Jus mix, a stick of butter, 5 pepperoncini peppers. DO NOT ADD WATER. Cook on low for 7-8 hrs.
I was a little hesitant about the “no water” thing, but amazingly, it worked out well. Honestly, I will probably reduce the butter to half a stick next time.

Yes, I used the entire packet of Hidden Valley, and the entire packet of au jus. I learned that it’s even better the next day! With all the fat solidified on the top, the jus underneath it is extremely condensed and makes for a killer sandwich!
